If you know me personally.....I may have just blown your mind with that statement. I really hate to admit this but I love shopping. I love having new things and buying new stuff- especially clothes. But with a bursting closet and more clothes than I can wear, I finally came to a decision that I need to do this for myself - and my bank account. This is something I've been thinking about for awhile and now is the time.
I've worked in retail for a number of years and have a collection of clothes that suits me for many different occasions. While clothing is my biggest issue, it's not my only vice. With all of these things considered, I've decided I don't really need anything. No really- I have more than enough. Of many things. So I've decided that today is the day I start a 6-month shopping ban.
I've outlined the rules for myself with some explanations below:
Things I'm NOT Allowed to buy
As time goes on, I may add to this, but this is it for now.
Things I'm ALLOWED to Buy
The reasons for doing this are countless but the major one is clear: I want to stop wasting money on things I don't really need. I want to go back to spending my money on adventures and spending my time and money on meaningful things, like making memories. I feel like I often FORGET what I'm saving for and spend unnecessarily on things that I regret when I get home. Fingers crossed I can get through this! I plan on giving updates once a month as to how I'm doing and if I'm missing purchasing anything. I do have some clothing reviews of items I ordered before this ban started coming up, so look for those soon.
Wish me luck! Has anyone else done a shopping ban before? Comment below!
